Salman Khan, born on 27 December 1965, is an Indian film actor, singer, philanthropist and producer. Son of famous screenwriter, Salim Khan, Salman Khan has two younger brothers, Sohail Khan and Arbaaz Khan and two younger sisters, Alvira Khan Agnihotri and Arpita. While Salman started his career with a supporting role in Biwi Ho To Aisi, however, until today, he is the only actor to have had eight films in the 100-crore club. Khan, along with being an actor, is an active humanitarian through his non-profit organization, ‘Being Human’. In 2011, Salman admitted of suffering from trigeminal neuralgia, a facial nerve disorder and he traveled abroad for its treatment. Salman Khan’s life has been mired in controversies due to legal cases for which the actor was jailed. In 1998, Salman was arrested for killing black bucks in Jodhpur while shooting for Hum Saath Saath Hai. As a result, Salman had spent a week in the jail before the court granted him bail. In 2006, Khan was sentenced to one year in prison for hunting the Chinkara, an endangered species. In 2002, Salman was involved in an accident in which many homeless people were hit by his car in Mumbai and while one man died, four were severely injured. However, later, in 2016, Salman was acquitted in both the cases.
